Pyrography on Mahogany with oil colour. 11 x 6
My friend Dave gave me some Mahogany to try out. It’s very hard wood and it was difficult to get lighter tones so I decided to go very dark. This was a test piece for a composition to be burned onto recipe boxes. The test was looking good so I decided to finish it. Again, mahogany isn’t as receptive as other types of wood for pyrography so I haven’t worked with it since, but I’m still quite happy with this piece.
