Pyrography on Maple. 12 x 12

Say hello to the Duke! My dad is a huge John Wayne fan so I decided to burn this portrait as a Fathers’ Day gift. Using my Hobby Burner I used largely a stipple work or pointalism technique. It’s one of the more time consuming techniques to try, but I love the results. Also, it was produced over two absurdly cold winter days so staying inside and tapping away wasn’t a bad way to pass the time!
